As part of the master module, the third assignment entitled &#8220;Jigsaw&#8221; had the purpose of teaching the students to think about different scales following the idea of system-inside-system. In this context, the students had to define an integration context for the products\/systems developed during the first and the second assignment. Groups were defined for this specific assignment. left;\"><strong>Master Module Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In this module, students will get an introduction into product modeling theory, which forms the basis of state-of-the-art Building Information Systems. The module will shed a light on ontologies and information models based from the viewpoint of semiotic theory. Related concepts such as level of detail, abstraction, and interpretation are introduced to provide insights in how to best computationally model engineered systems to support knowledge-intensive engineering work. Students will here gain the required skills to represent and describe all type of civil engineering objects ranging from buildings to infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">To ground the theoretical part of the module, students will also gain practical hands-on experiences modeling complex infrastructure and building systems using state of the art ontology modeling and information modeling software. Additionally, students will learn how to interface with existing domain specific modeling applications such as Autodesk Infra or Autodesk Revit.
