This was a cognitive exercise which required the group to define a concept which could logically connect our disparate domains of <a title=\"Highrise Building\" href=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=3825\">highrise building<\/a>, <a title=\"Building Structure Design\" href=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=3831\">building structure design<\/a>, <a title=\"Building Energy Performance System\" href=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=3829\">building energy performance system<\/a> and <a title=\"Scaffolding\" href=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=3827\">scaffolding<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We conceptualised a \u2018tool facilitating design and construction processes in building renovation\u2019 as a suitable connection between the individual domains and objective for a new integrated context.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/graphic.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5718\" src=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/graphic-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"graphic\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/graphic-300x224.jpg 300w, http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/graphic-1024x764.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/graphic-520x388.jpg 520w, http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/graphic-740x552.jpg 740w, http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/graphic.jpg 1638w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The repurposed roles within the new domain context were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Structural<\/strong> and <strong>architectural<\/strong> parts allowed for adapting the tool to a wide variety of existing building contexts, enabling structural grid generation and automatic structural component sizing based on loading conditions.<\/li>\n<li>The<strong> BES<\/strong> part enabled thermal analysis to assist in decision making the renovation design process.<\/li>\n<li>Finally, the <strong>scaffolding<\/strong> part allowed for planning the implementation of renovation works from a logistical perspective.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The group then carried out the integration of the previously developed OWL ontologies to provide a cross-disciplinary semantic taxonomy (<em>link to ontology webpage<\/em>). This was followed by integration of separate Dynamo scripts (link to model webpage) to interact dynamically as a single system.
