Planning of maintenance gets especially crucial when the system\u2019s complexity increases. Every component of this system shows a different behaviour concerning<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the speed of deterioration<\/li>\n<li>the failure rates<\/li>\n<li>the importance\/ priority of maintaining<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">the frequency and urgent of maintenance,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For complex systems it is important to understand the relations between the components to already adjust beneficial settings before usage. Thus, the choice of materials, their quality as well as the way of construction influence the speed of deterioration over time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The aim of maintenance planning is to find a balance between the system\u2019s performance quality and the costs resulting from the maintenance actions as well as environmental impacts. This will be done in the following by applying a <a href=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=4280\"><strong>Multi-Objective Optimization (MOO)<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>in order to find the best maintenance plan for a combined and complex system. As part of the MOO, the systems emission will be studied thoroughly, while focusing on the most dominant emissions: CO<sub>2<\/sub>, NO<sub>x<\/sub> and SO<sub>2<\/sub>. These will be studied in the context of material extraction, material processing, fabrication, production and system repairs (cradle-to-gate-analysis). The integrated system consists of four independent systems, which should be combined by integrating their individual life cycle models. Resulting in a holistic maintenance plan, the MOO should give an overview of how small changes of one individual system\u2019s maintenance planning effect the other systems as well as the holistic systems while balancing the life-cycle costs and performance quality at the same time.
