{"id":3874,"date":"2021-02-13T16:20:21","date_gmt":"2021-02-13T16:20:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=3874"},"modified":"2021-02-22T17:13:32","modified_gmt":"2021-02-22T17:13:32","slug":"combined-ontology","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=3874","title":{"rendered":"Combined Ontology"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Combined Ontologies\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To develop the combined ontology from the three initial systems: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=3868\">Office Building<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=3870\">Building Automation System (BAS) <\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=3872\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Suspended Drywall Ceiling<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an office building was chosen as the domain. Accordingly, the initial ontology of the office building was used as the basis and the two other ontologies were integrated.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To integrate the BAS ontology, a new class called\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OfficeBuildingServices <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was formed and the BAS ontology was added as a subclass. In addition to this, other subclasses, such as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AirConditioning<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Electricity<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Heating<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lighting<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SanitarySystem<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, were added to the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OfficeBuildingServices<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> class. Furthermore, the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Building_Interface<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> subclass of BAS was removed, as it became redundant after combining the ontologies. Accordingly, the associated object properties were also removed. The following figure shows the integrated BAS ontology.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/BAS.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  aligncenter wp-image-4693 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/BAS-1024x408.png\" alt=\"bas-ontology\" width=\"1024\" height=\"408\" srcset=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/BAS-1024x408.png 1024w, http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/BAS-300x120.png 300w, http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/BAS-520x207.png 520w, http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/BAS-740x295.png 740w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, the suspended drywall ceiling ontology was also integrated as a component in the initial office building ontology. For this purpose, the suspended drywall ceiling ontology was added as element to the subclass<i> NonLoadBearingComponent<\/i>, which is illustrated in the next figure.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/DryWallCeiling.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  aligncenter wp-image-4694 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/DryWallCeiling-929x1024.png\" alt=\"suspendeddrywallceiling\" width=\"929\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/DryWallCeiling-929x1024.png 929w, http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/DryWallCeiling-272x300.png 272w, http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/DryWallCeiling-520x573.png 520w, http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/DryWallCeiling-740x815.png 740w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 929px) 100vw, 929px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following figure shows the finished combined ontology, which can also be retrieved here: <a href=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Combined_ontology.owl\">Combined-Ontology<\/a>. The combined ontology contains a total of two design options of an office building, which have been expanded based on the added ontologies. Both design options have been assigned additional and different existential constraints, which contain different parameters.
