Our project addresses the &#8220;Barrier Effect&#8221; created by major highways by developing an integrated corridor where vehicular and pedestrian systems are co-dependent. By treating these assets as a <strong>system-of-systems<\/strong>, we move beyond isolated models toward a unified, data-driven infrastructure assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>System Components<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The model integrates five independently developed civil engineering modules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Three Road Segments<\/strong>: Standard Asphalt Pavement, Flexible Pavement, and a Curved Highway segment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Two Pedestrian Bridges<\/strong>: A Smart Pedestrian Bridge and a Cable-stayed system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Intro-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"484\" height=\"323\" src=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Intro-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29120\" style=\"width:485px;height:auto\" srcset=\"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Intro-1.png 484w, http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Intro-1-300x200.png 300w, http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Intro-1-390x260.png 390w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 484px) 100vw, 484px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Integrated Approach (Ontology and Dynamo)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure these five products fit together perfectly in 3D space, we implemented a two-step modeling strategy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ontological Modelling(Ontology)<\/strong>: Using <strong>Prot\u00e9g\u00e9<\/strong>, we established a shared vocabulary and conceptual rules. This ensures that every module\u2014regardless of its designer\u2014uses the same naming conventions and structural logic for components like piles, decks, and asphalt layers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Parametric Modelling (Dynamo Workflow)<\/strong>: Using <strong>Dynamo<\/strong>, we created a modular &#8220;chain&#8221; where data flows from one product to the next.
