The strategy is based on maintenance disruptions in complex building systems that are influenced not only by technical intervention requirements, but also by how material deliveries are planned and executed [15,16]. When maintenance actions are scheduled independently, repeated and uncoordinated material transport can lead to avoidable system interruptions and inefficiencies over the service life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the non-integrated maintenance configuration, each subsystem follows its own maintenance schedule. Whenever a maintenance action requires material input, a separate delivery to site is assumed, even if other subsystems require materials within a similar time window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The integrated maintenance approach in Strategy 3 introduces limited flexibility in maintenance timing to improve coordination of material-dependent interventions. The technical scope and type of maintenance actions remain unchanged; instead, execution times may be shifted within realistic bounds, to allow multiple subsystems to share material deliveries. This consolidation reduces the total number of transport events while maintaining compliance with acceptable maintenance intervals and durability requirements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consolidated material deliveries reduce cumulative interruption durations associated with maintenance execution and lead to improved performance in the life-cycle assessment, particularly in terms of transport-related impacts. At the same time, the strategy introduces a distinct balance between interruption duration and spacing, which is explicitly captured through preference-based ranking and multi-objective optimization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the overall project framework, Strategy 3 complements the integration approaches explored in Strategies 1 and 2. While the earlier strategies focus on access-related effects and crew organization, Strategy 3 highlights material flow as an additional coordination mechanism.
