{"id":24328,"date":"2026-02-02T10:54:21","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T10:54:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=24328"},"modified":"2026-02-07T11:33:21","modified_gmt":"2026-02-07T11:33:21","slug":"retaining-wall-2-ontological-modelling","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=24328","title":{"rendered":"Retaining Wall 2"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Focus<\/strong><br>This work presents the development of a structured ontological model for reinforced concrete cantilever retaining walls, capturing their geometric configuration, material characteristics, geotechnical parameters, and areas of application within a single semantic framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objective<\/strong><br>The primary objective was to establish a reusable and interoperable knowledge model that enables systematic comparison of alternative retaining wall designs while improving the consistency and traceability of engineering data across the structure\u2019s life cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><br>An OWL-based ontology was designed following a recognized ontology development methodology. Core structural components such as the stem, base plate, heel, toe, and backfill soil were modeled alongside key design parameters including safety factors, friction angles, concrete strength, and drainage conditions.
