{"id":2403,"date":"2020-01-24T16:23:27","date_gmt":"2020-01-24T16:23:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=2403"},"modified":"2021-01-25T10:09:39","modified_gmt":"2021-01-25T10:09:39","slug":"multi-storey-building","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/141.23.68.248\/wp\/?page_id=2403","title":{"rendered":"Multi-Storey Building"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A multi-storey building is a building that has multiple storeys, and typically contains vertical circulation in the form of ramps, stairs and lifts.\u00a0They arise in urban areas where increased land prices and great population densities created a demand for buildings that rose vertically rather than spread horizontally, thus occupying less precious land area.\u00a0By the mid-20th century, such buildings had become a standard feature of the architectural landscape in most countries in the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ontological Development<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">An ontology for a multi-storey building system has been modeled into the program Prot\u00e9g\u00e9 and subdivided following a physical, functional and logical decomposition. These decomposition have helped forming several\u00a0<em>Classes\u00a0<\/em>and <i>Sub-classes<\/i>, as well as the relations between them. We focused\u00a0on the relations that influence the physical embodiment of our model, for instance finding the required surface area for a specific utilization of the multi-storey building, in order to estimate its dimensions.
