This Ontological model is essential to provide a basic understanding of steel frames&#8217; structural components, uses, and materials.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Provide a structured representation of the various elements used in designing and constructing earthquake-resistant steel frames, capturing relationships between components, design principles, materials, and techniques. This facilitates understanding, decision-making, and communication among stakeholders, and can be used to guide the design process ensuring structural integrity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scope:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Structural components of steel frames<\/li>\n<li>Steel types, including different steel grades and different products such as hot rolled and cold formed steel.<\/li>\n<li>Structure\u2019s intended use.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Intended Use:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Knowledge representation and educational tools, Design optimization, and compliance and standards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Intended Users:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Design\u00a0engineers\u00a0to keep track of different design options. Also for stakeholders, it provides an informative tool to help in the decision-making process.
