Creating a comfortable environment is crucial in the hospitality industry, especially for hotels, where guest satisfaction is paramount. Among the various systems influencing guest comfort, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems play a significant role.\u00a0The objectives of the HVAC system design are to provide a thermal comfort, good indoor quality and energy conservation [1].\u00a0However, selecting the appropriate HVAC system for a hotel building can be challenging due to high costs and maintenance requirements.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Different Options<\/h3>\n

When selecting an HVAC system for a hotel building, it’s essential to consider its impact on operational costs, maintenance requirements, and environmental sustainability over its life cycle. Here, four different HVAC systems are evaluated to determine the optimal choice:<\/p>\n

1-\u00a0Water Cooled Screw Chiller\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 2-Air cooled chillers<\/h5>\n

Maintenance Plan<\/h3>\n

When evaluating HVAC systems for a hotel building, maintenance plans play a crucial role in determining life cycle costs and operational expenses. Two maintenance plans are considered:<\/p>\n

1-\u00a0Replacing the Whole HVAC System Based on System Life Span<\/p>\n

2-\u00a0Annual Maintenance During the Life Span of the System<\/p>\n

Each maintenance plan affect the “life cycle\u00a0cost” and “operation and maintenance cost” and eventually help us to find a system which is more suitable.<\/p>\n

MCDM analysis<\/h3>\n

For comparing these four systems we are going to use the result of Total Connected Load (TCL), Power Consumption (PC), Operating and Maintenance Cost per year (OMC), Capital Cost of HVAC System Installation (CC) and finally the Life cycle cost of each system.<\/p>\n

we conducted a MCDM analysis by using \u00a0AHP calculation , and the final pie chart can tell us which option is more suitable for our system:<\/p>\n

Based on the pie chart we can say that Water Cooled Screw Chiller is the best option for us and All DX Conventional Split Ac Units will be the second-best option.<\/p>\n
