Established\u00a0parametric\u00a0modeling is a structural\u00a0designer&#8217;s\u00a0effort\u00a0to\u00a0get a better model each time by\u00a0changing a set of parameters. While\u00a0making\u00a0this\u00a0effort, important High-Performance\u00a0Criteria\u00a0were\u00a0determined\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0design, and\u00a0system\u00a0development\u00a0was\u00a0attempted\u00a0based on the\u00a0solution\u00a0to\u00a0the problem created\u00a0by\u00a0these\u00a0criteria. In\u00a0this\u00a0study, a total of 3\u00a0different High-Performance\u00a0Criteria\u00a0were\u00a0determined\u00a0and 3 different\u00a0design\u00a0options\u00a0were\u00a0developed\u00a0based on the\u00a0solution of these\u00a0criteria.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>2.Chosen <\/strong><strong>System<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0chosen\u00a0system is a reinforced\u00a0concrete\u00a0multi-storey High Rise Building, as in the 1st assignment. The\u00a0chosen\u00a0system is a system\u00a0that can be used\u00a0for\u00a0commercial\u00a0or\u00a0residential\u00a0purposes\u00a0and is common in metropolitan\u00a0areas. Developing\u00a0such\u00a0systems on the\u00a0basis of high-performance\u00a0criteria\u00a0for\u00a0both\u00a0durability\u00a0and\u00a0ergonomics\u00a0will\u00a0result in more\u00a0sustainable\u00a0results\u00a0than\u00a0already\u00a0existing\u00a0by\u00a0providing a higher-performance\u00a0system\u00a0that is both\u00a0more\u00a0rigid\u00a0and\u00a0uses\u00a0fewer\u00a0world\u00a0resources.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>2.1. Design Challenge of a <\/strong><strong>Chosen<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>System<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>To\u00a0safely\u00a0carry\u00a0gravity\u00a0and lateral loads, high-rise\u00a0building\u00a0design\u00a0essentially\u00a0entails a conceptual\u00a0design, approximation\u00a0analysis, preliminary\u00a0design, and\u00a0optimization. The\u00a0reason\u00a0why it is important\u00a0to transport these\u00a0loads\u00a0safely is that\u00a0the\u00a0vertical\u00a0load\u00a0gradually\u00a0increases\u00a0due\u00a0to\u00a0the horizontal load\u00a0and\u00a0mass\u00a0created\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0increasing\u00a0wind\u00a0load as the\u00a0building\u00a0rises. The\u00a0design\u00a0challenge here is to\u00a0increase\u00a0the\u00a0resistance\u00a0to\u00a0these\u00a0loads\u00a0with\u00a0different\u00a0methods\u00a0while\u00a0keeping\u00a0the\u00a0cost\u00a0low\u00a0and\u00a0keeping\u00a0the\u00a0construction of these\u00a0structures\u00a0within a reasonable\u00a0price\u00a0range.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>3. High <\/strong><strong>Performance<\/strong><strong>Criteria<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0first\u00a0high-performance\u00a0criterion is the\u00a0location of the\u00a0center of mass of the\u00a0structure. Keeping\u00a0the main center of the total mass of the\u00a0building as low as possible in such\u00a0high-rise\u00a0buildings is one of the\u00a0most\u00a0important\u00a0factors\u00a0for\u00a0maintaining\u00a0the\u00a0rigidity of the\u00a0structure\u00a0due\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0high\u00a0wind\u00a0and\u00a0earthquake\u00a0forces\u00a0that\u00a0the\u00a0structure is exposed\u00a0to. At the\u00a0same time, while\u00a0the\u00a0floors at the\u00a0bottom of the\u00a0building\u00a0should\u00a0bear\u00a0the\u00a0highest\u00a0load, the\u00a0fact\u00a0that\u00a0the top floors of the\u00a0building do not need\u00a0such a load\u00a0bearing is another\u00a0reason\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0center of mass of the\u00a0building\u00a0to be lower. Thus, the\u00a0floor\u00a0surface\u00a0area of the\u00a0building is expanded\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0floor is strengthened, while\u00a0the\u00a0ceiling\u00a0surface\u00a0area is narrowed\u00a0and\u00a0the total load on the\u00a0ceiling is reduced. The\u00a0load-bearing\u00a0capacity of a high-rise\u00a0building is very\u00a0important\u00a0due\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0external\u00a0loads\u00a0affecting\u00a0the\u00a0structure\u00a0like\u00a0wind\u00a0loads\u00a0and\u00a0earthquake\u00a0loads. The total load\u00a0that\u00a0this\u00a0structure can carry can be increased\u00a0intelligently\u00a0with\u00a0different\u00a0design\u00a0options. The\u00a0fact\u00a0that\u00a0the\u00a0structure\u00a0does not deteriorate as a result of high\u00a0external\u00a0forces\u00a0increases\u00a0the\u00a0sustainability of the\u00a0structure.\u00a0The\u00a0construction of imagined\u00a0structures in today&#8217;s\u00a0world is proportional\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0reasonable\u00a0cost of these\u00a0structures. Especially since such\u00a0high-rise\u00a0buildings\u00a0are\u00a0used as either\u00a0commercial\u00a0or\u00a0residential, the\u00a0construction of these\u00a0buildings is usually\u00a0profit-oriented. That is why I believe\u00a0also I should\u00a0consider\u00a0this as a High-Performance-Criterion.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>4. Engineering<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Rationale<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0building is a classic\u00a0reinforced\u00a0concrete\u00a0high-rise\u00a0building. While\u00a0evaluating\u00a0the\u00a0system, only\u00a0the\u00a0superstructure of the\u00a0system\u00a0was\u00a0evaluated. The\u00a0foundation of the\u00a0system\u00a0was not included in the\u00a0design\u00a0and\u00a0evaluation.\u00a0While\u00a0the\u00a0building is being\u00a0developed, ceiling\u00a0width\u00a0and\u00a0ceiling\u00a0length\u00a0are\u00a0added as parameters\u00a0because\u00a0sometimes\u00a0the\u00a0ceiling\u00a0dimensions of the\u00a0building\u00a0change as well.\u00a0In\u00a0order\u00a0to\u00a0have\u00a0close\u00a0evaluations, the total heights\u00a0and\u00a0floor\u00a0numbers of the\u00a0buildings\u00a0were\u00a0kept\u00a0constant.\u00a0In\u00a0some\u00a0designs, while\u00a0the\u00a0floor\u00a0area is fixed, the\u00a0number of elevators has also\u00a0changed\u00a0for\u00a0better\u00a0space\u00a0management\u00a0due\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0change of the\u00a0ceiling\u00a0area. While\u00a0offering\u00a0different\u00a0solutions\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0structure, additional\u00a0elements\u00a0were\u00a0added\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0structure\u00a0like\u00a0steel X-Bracings. Since these\u00a0beams\u00a0are\u00a0steel, they increase\u00a0the\u00a0cost\u00a0very\u00a0seriously\u00a0and\u00a0also\u00a0increase\u00a0the\u00a0load-bearing\u00a0capacity of the\u00a0structure.\u00a0Dimensions of these\u00a0beams\u00a0are not added as parameters. The\u00a0logic of this\u00a0parametric\u00a0modeling is to\u00a0design\u00a0different\u00a0options\u00a0to\u00a0construct\u00a0the High Rise Building, which has the\u00a0most\u00a0cost-effectiveness\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0highest\u00a0strength, and\u00a0to\u00a0choose\u00a0the\u00a0most\u00a0suitable\u00a0one\u00a0among\u00a0these\u00a0options.\u00a0The main parameters\u00a0used in the\u00a0design of this\u00a0building\u00a0can be seen\u00a0down\u00a0below in the\u00a0design\u00a0space\u00a0section.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>5.
